5 Tips for the Perfect Senior Session

1. Try on your outfits ahead of time! That may seem like a silly tip for trying your outfit on before hand is probably a given. But...don’t only try your outfit on…go ahead and wear it for a few minutes! Walk around, jump, sit, move! Do your sleeves fall down when you walk? Is the top a little too loose when you sit? Can you move around easily? Does it feel comfortable? Is it YOU?

2. Brainstorm all the props (hobby items, sports equipment, jacket, etc) that you want to bring to your session and have it all talked through with your photographer! This helps it not be such a mad dash the day of! Plus it helps us plan out the locations of your photos better!

3. Go ahead and pack a few items to take a long!

Water (Especially if your session is during the summer! Water is a MUST!)

Flip Flops (You may have to walk a little bit to different spots and you will be so happy you can were your comfortable flip flops until you get to the location where you’re shooting at where you can change into the heels you brought)

Bug Spray (I like to bring this a long but bringing extra can’t hurt! Especially if one of your locations is in a tall grassy area!)

Socks - Are you changing out of sandals to boots for a photo? Socks are so easy to forget! Make sure you you pack a pair just in case!

Jewelry - Jewelry can add to the photos so much! It’s so easy add variety into your photos with a quick switch of earrings or a bracelet.

4. Watch your sun exposure leading up to your session. While photographers can do a lot in the editing process, it’s always better to avoid awkward tan lines and sunburns!

5. Don’t stress! Have a good mindset going in. Don’t worry so much about the strand of hair that may be out of place or the blemish that pops up the morning of. We’ve all been there and your photographer will most likely have a wonderful editing process. Your photographer is there to help you 100%!
