This is Me!

(and my fam!)

First and foremost, I am a child of God. I have loved getting to use this talent and passion of photography that he has given me to serve others and create beautiful art! My hubs, Andrew, and I have been married for almost 4 years. We met in college on an amazing mission trip to Haiti. After a couple of summers of spending time together on these trips, we started dating and shortly we were married on July 14, 2018. It was the greatest day celebrating with our family and friends at our little barn wedding. I feel so lucky to be married to such an incredible Godly man.

We live a sweet and simple life! Here’s a peek inside!

We moved into a little blue house here in Seward, Nebraska and I absolutely love it. The community has been so great to us. When I’m not shooting or working on my photography business, I may be down at our local library assisting wherever they need me. This is a very part-time job but is great to have as a way to get out of my house and talk to other people! Plus..Books. Need I say more? :) Andrew works as a teacher and on our days off together we enjoy traveling, trying new restaurants and visiting new places. We love to spend time with both of our families and enjoy having friends over for dinner and games! Catan anyone? ;)

If we’re not doing any of these things then we’re probably on a walk with our Golden Retriever, Crosby. He is our joy! (I promise you’d like him if you met him!) We don’t have any kids in our lives yet but as of October 2021, we’re officially in the process of adopting a little one from South Africa! We can’t be more excited to be on this sweet journey!

Finding my passion for Photography

Growing up, I never would have guessed that I would make a career out of photography. It was always something I enjoyed but I definitely wouldn’t have dreamed of doing it for a living. I grew up as the family historian so to speak, bringing and capturing memories on all of our family vacations. When I started attending college at University of Nebraska—Lincoln, I started to do photography on the side! It was fun for me and a great way to have some extra income. Each year, I got a little more invested in this “side” business of mine. After I graduated with a Bachelors in Art - Graphic Design, I worked a couple different full time jobs in marketing before I decided to jump all in to photography. I went full time with my business in April of 2020 (Yes, the same year as the pandemic!) and I’ve been loving it ever since. It’s been so fun to have a job that’s different every day, keeps my creative mind flowing, and really just fills my bucket.

One of my favorite parts of photography is getting to know and serve other people. I look at this “talent and passion” of mine as a way to capture the love and experiences God has blessed us all with. It’s His creation and I’m just trying to do a decent job of capturing it. ;)

So have a look around, I’m so glad to have you visiting my little corner of the internet! Have a question? Want to book a session? Reach out using my contact form. I can’t wait to hear from you!
